Amber or Flint?

Amber and flint glass bottles differ in their colour, composition, and properties. Amber glass is commonly used for storing light-sensitive substances such as medications, essential oils, and beer, as it provides UV protection. While flint glass is highly durable, which means that it’s harder to break or scratch. It’s also heat resistant, which makes it perfect for scientific labs or in industrial settings.

Always the Right Thread

As you can imagine, there are many different types of bottle threads, depending on its purpose. In this case, we use the PP28 threads. The PP means that it is pilfer-proof, while the 28 refers to the screw thread itself. Our PP28 includes a tamper-evident closure with a tear-off ring at the bottom. This safety feature breaks open, when the cap is opened for the first time.

Calaso provides a wide range of screw threads and neck finishes to suit glass bottles for every kind of usage. It’s important to match threads and neck finishes, when you’re choosing bottles, jars and the closures. Sometimes, it’s a mixture of letters and numbers, at other times, just two numbers. For example, DIN refers to the measuring system used in Europe. If you see two numbers separated by a forward slash, the first number refers to the diameter, and the second to the thread style. Which is how often the thread wraps around the bottle.
